Professional Experience: John Finnerty has been representing clients in Northeastern Pennsylvania as an attorney with Dougherty, Leventhal & Price since 1996.  Attorney Finnerty represents clients in all types of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, workers’ compensation, auto accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, products liability claims, business disputes, and slip and fall claims.  Attorney Finnerty also  represents clients in real estate transactions and in the administration of estates.  After serving as the Assistant Solicitor for ten (10) years, Attorney Finnerty has been the Solicitor of Pittston Township, Luzerne County, since 2008.  Attorney Finnerty is also a Certified Arbitrator and he regularly serves as an Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau’s Auto Warranty Program.

Activities/Pro Bono:  Active in the community, John serves as President of the Minooka Neighborhood Association, Treasurer of the Minooka Babe Ruth League, and he is Past Chairman of St. Joseph’s Church’s Annual Picnic.  He is a lector at Divine Mercy Parish and he is very active in coaching youth sports.  Additionally, John and the other attorneys he works with in DLP’s Lackawanna County office have received the Equal Access to Justice Award from Lackawanna Pro Bono, Inc. for the volunteer legal services they have provided to those in need each year for the past four years.

Education:  Attorney Finnerty is a graduate of the University of Scranton where he obtained a Bachelor of Sciene (B.S.) Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in  Business Administration (M.B.A.).  In 1996, John graduated Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law where he distinquished himself as a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society.
