Psychiatric Injuries For Over The Road Truck Drivers

Posted by Cal Leventhal & filed under DLP Law.

Truck drivers, like any type of workers, do not have to prove that they suffered a physical disability which in turn causes a mental disability in order to receive Workers’ Compensation benefits. There are situations where a truck driver, as a result of a horrific accident, while not suffering physical injuries may suffer from extreme mental distress known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This has been recognized as a compensable injury in Workers’ Compensation in the State of Pennsylvania and would entitle the affected driver to full medical coverage and loss of wage benefits until he or she could return to gainful employment.
