The moratorium on natural gas drilling and fracking remain in place.  Yesterday the New York Times reported on an eight (8) page study it obtained which concluded that fracking and natural as drilling can be accomplished in safe fashion.   New York State officials and environmental activists were quick to point out that the document was “outdated” and was only a “summary”.   A more detailed  1500 page report is being finalized.  Meanwhile natural gas drilling in New York, especially in counties bordering Pennsylvania’s Northern Tier, remains on hold.
