The new movie “Promised Land” debuted this week, and as expected is causing quite a stir in gas drilling country. The movie, written by and acted by Matt Damon and John Kasisnski, focuses on land leasing and land development by natural gas drilling companies for the purpose of erecting gas drilling rigs and fracking. Natural gas drilling companies actually produced and are airing commercial spots at movie theaters showing the film noting that it is purely fictional and in no way a true portrayal of the drilling/fracking industry. Anti fracking groups claim the movie is realistic. Movie goers are taking in the movie and will make their on determination.
